A new name and logo for Colorado Pregnancy Center

What’s in a name? Apparently, the ability to minister to more people.

Founded in 1989 at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Evergreen, Colorado Mountain Area Pregnancy Center is now going by its new name—Life’s Options Pregnancy Center—which leaders hope will boost their reach to women considering abortion in their rural community.

Along with pregnancy tests, options counseling and parenting courses, Life’s Options offers abstinence education, post-abortion counseling, and childbirth classes.

Plus, they provide baby and maternity supplies and host a weekly Bible study geared to new and expectant moms.

Canadian Center Looking Ahead to New Season of Growth

An outreach in Ontario, Canada, that specializes in helping single moms create homes of their own is currently on the hunt for a home of its own. Founded in 2006, First Step Options offers pregnancy testing and help with the decision-making process in the midst of an unexpected pregnancy, as well as abortion recovery, parenting services, and even a homemaking class.

For years, First Step Options has been operating out of the parsonage at St. John’s Lutheran, but the center’s recent growth is prompting the group to find an upgraded facility, board chair John Lofstedt said.

Maternity Home Forging a Bridge of Hope for Single Moms

Every year, one in 30 U.S. children faces homelessness. Eighty percent of those families are headed by a single mother.

With one maternity home each in Indiana and the Canadian province of Alberta, Bridge of Hope is looking ahead to partnering with life-affirming pregnancy help organizations across North America to empower these moms to provide for their children.

A Three-Way Partnership to End Homelessness

As Bridge of Hope has sought to address the need within its community, it has developed a model of ministry that teams up church-based mentoring groups and social workers to help single mothers facing homelessness provide for their families.

At the Intersection of Life-Saving Help, Child Well-Being

Forty-seven percent of American children are starting school at a disadvantage, but the solution is simpler than you might think. (Tweet that!)

As obvious as it may sound, parents just have to read to their kids regularly at home.

But according to the National Center for Education Statistics, only 53 percent of preschoolers enjoy that advantage.

Through their partnership with the Brighton District Library, the Pregnancy Help Clinic in Brighton, Michigan, is working to change that statistic.

For the first 35 years since its founding in 1975, the clinic concentrated on offering peer counseling to women in crisis pregnancies, adding free ultrasound and testing for STIs along the way.

In 2011, the center branched out to partner with the Brighton District Library’s Books for Babies program.

Carhart Was Aborting Fully Formed Babies on the Lord’s Day. We Couldn’t Keep Letting That Happen.

In 2015, our family moved to central Maryland, where my husband was stepping into a new role as the youth and young adult pastor at Greenridge Baptist Church.

As we met members of our new church family, I was horrified to learn what was happening less than four miles away.

LeRoy Carhart flew in every Sunday to end the lives of unborn babies just months or weeks from their due date. (Tweet that!)
