Bless a Writer: Ten Ways to Celebrate Wordsmiths

Want to know how to support, celebrate, or cheer on the wordsmiths in your life? (Tweet that!) I usually blog about authors, novels, and social issues. But this Saturday’s my birthday, so I’m going to be bold and tell you how to bless a writer.

Don’t worry—nine of the gifts won’t cost you anything but time. Of course, time is precious in our busy lives, so I’ll treasure whichever of these presents you choose to give.

But I didn’t create this list of ways to bless a writer just for my own benefit. I pray it will also inspire you to bless other bloggers, journalists, and novelists.

Writers, feel free (encouraged even!) to share this list today, on your birthdays, or both.

10

“Like” (or “love!”) our blogs and articles on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.

9

Better yet, comment on them on our websites, social media, or both.

8

Even better, share our blogs on your own page or someone else’s, preferably with a sentence or two of your own. (Posted links that include your thoughts get read more than lonely links.)

7

Subscribe to our blogs. (You can subscribe to mine here.)

6

Sign up for our newsletters. By the way, thank you to everyone who already signed up for mine!

5

If your library doesn’t already carry our book, ask your librarian to order a copy. (Without me doing anything, Snow Out of Season is already in 92 branches in three countries! Could we get it up to 100 by the end of this month?)

4

Tell someone how much you liked our novel (assuming you did, of course). If you’d like free bookmarks to give out as you do, just ask. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to sell books.

3

Buy a copy of our book for yourself or a loved one. (Don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up!)

2

If you have your own website or write for someone else’s, interview us or review our book.

1

Finally, if you read and liked our novel, write a review on Goodreads or Amazon. Even if you just have time to type up a sentence or two, you’ll make our day plus draw more readers to our writing.

If you do one or more of the things listed above for me or another author, let me know in the comments.

Thank you so much for all your support!!!

  1. Hello everyone , I’m Angelina.
Welcome to my homepage . I started writing in high school after a creative writing assignment for my English teacher. I did creative writing for almost a year before I thought about doing something else.
I had always loved doing research papers because I’m passionate about learning. When you combine writing ability with a love of learning, dissertation writing only makes sense as a job.
I’m passionate about helping the students of the future in their school career. When they don’t like their assignment , I am there to help.

  2. Hi everyone , I’m Jeanne.
Welcome to my about page. I started writing in high school after a creative writing assignment for my English teacher. I did creative writing for several months before I thought about doing something else.
I had always loved doing non-fiction writing because I’m passionate about learning. When you combine writing ability with a love of learning, research paper writing only makes sense as a job.
I’m passionate about assisting the students of the future in their school career. When they don’t have time for their paper , I am there to help.
